Additional Electrical Testing

In addition to EET (PAT) testing, we provide a range of specialist electrical inspections to ensure full compliance and safety. This includes EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) to assess the condition of fixed wiring—a legal requirement for landlords in the Private Rented Sector (PRS) every five years. We also offer emergency lighting testing to verify correct operation during power outages, and visual condition reports to identify any visible signs of damage or deterioration within electrical installations. All services are carried out by qualified professionals in accordance with current UK safety standards.

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a safety check carried out on the fixed wiring and electrical systems in a property.

Our qualified electricians test and inspect your system in line with the latest regulations (BS 7671 – IET Wiring Regulations) and provide a full report. Any issues found are clearly explained and graded by urgency, so you’ll know what (if anything) needs attention.

For landlords in England, an EICR is legally required every five years under The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector Regulations 2020. It's also strongly recommended for businesses, homeowners, and public buildings to ensure ongoing safety and compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

Visual Condition Reports

A Visual Condition Report is a basic electrical safety check where our electricians examine the condition of visible wiring, sockets, switches, and other key components without carrying out full testing.

It's ideal between formal EICRs, after minor electrical work, or as part of routine safety maintenance—especially in workplaces or rented properties.

While this is not a substitute for an EICR, it’s a cost-effective way to keep an eye on the condition of your electrical systems.

Emergency Lighting Testing

Emergency lighting is essential for safely guiding people out of a building in the event of a power failure and should be tested annually. Our testing ensures that all emergency lights function correctly when needed—automatically switching on and providing the required illumination for the full rated duration.

Testing is carried out in line with BS 5266-1, the British Standard for emergency lighting. We check battery performance, light positioning, and system integrity. After testing, you'll receive a log and certificate, which can be used for safety audits and insurance compliance.
